St Benedict's 120th Anniversary Tree-Planting
St Benedict’s - educating for a sustainable future - is planting 120 Woodland Trust trees to celebrate the school's 120th anniversary.
120 wild cherry trees, provided by the Woodland Trust, will hopefully flourish in the years to come, playing an important role in environmental sustainability. They have been planted on the school’s site, at the Perivale sports grounds, in parents’ gardens and at Holy Family Catholic Primary, Acton in recognition of our partnership with the school.
On Tuesday 30th November, the Headmaster, Mr Joe Berger (OP and Chair of Governors) and guests gathered at Perivale for the official tree-planting ceremony, which began with a performance from the CCF’s Corps of Drums. Mr Berger planted the first tree; in his speech he recalled St Benedict’s as it was when he was a student and spoke of his excitement for the school’s future.
With thanks to the CCF for planting the many other saplings.
