A Message to Families from _______________

Like many of you, we were saddened to hear the news that ____________

We appreciate that this announcement may bring with it uncertainty, concern and many questions about the future. Most importantly, we recognise the impact this news will have on children and young people who have built friendships, established routines and found a sense of belonging within their school community.

Should you be considering the next steps for your child, I want to reassure you that St Benedict's stands ready to support you. Our aim is not simply to offer places, but to provide stability, continuity and a warm welcome at what may be a difficult and unsettling time.

As a Catholic school with a long tradition of educating young people within a caring and supportive community, we understand the importance of ensuring that any transition is handled with sensitivity and care. Every family's circumstances will be different, and we are committed to providing personal support throughout the process.

Our Admissions Team and senior staff are available to answer questions, arrange visits and discuss how we can support your child's educational journey.

Over the coming weeks, we will be offering opportunities for families to visit the school, meet staff, explore our facilities and learn more about life at St Benedict's.

Most importantly, we want families to feel confident that their children will be known, valued and supported.

We very much look forward to meeting you.

Admissions Process

To support families requiring a change of school during the academic year, we aim to provide an accelerated admissions process.

This typically includes:

  1. Initial enquiry with our Admissions Team.
  2. Personal meeting with parents or carers.
  3. Tour of the school.
  4. Review of school reports and any relevant records.
  5. Age-appropriate assessment where appropriate.
  6. Reference from the child's current or previous setting (where available).
  7. Prompt communication of the admissions decision.

Where a closure means records are temporarily unavailable, we will work flexibly with families and the closing school wherever possible.

Entry During the School Year

Subject to availability, we will consider applications for immediate or mid-year entry across all year groups.

We recognise that children joining following a school closure may require additional support to settle into a new environment. Our pastoral and teaching teams will work closely with families to ensure each child receives a warm welcome and appropriate academic and pastoral support.
