Academic Excellence
At St Benedict’s Sixth Form, academic excellence means more than achieving outstanding grades. It means developing the knowledge, intellectual curiosity and independence to fulfil your potential and prepare confidently for what comes next.
Our students consistently achieve excellent A Level results, with an average grade of A in 2026. These outcomes reflect high expectations, expert teaching and a learning environment in which every student is encouraged to aim high.
With accessible entry requirements and a strong belief in individual potential, we focus on helping each student make exceptional progress from their own starting point.
Teaching that brings out your best
With an average of just seven students per class, our lessons offer the space to ask questions, explore complex ideas and engage in meaningful discussion. Teaching is interactive and challenging, encouraging you to think critically, develop your own arguments and take increasing responsibility for your learning.
Our teachers know their students well. Regular feedback, individual guidance and specialist subject support help you identify your strengths, address challenges and build the confidence to tackle demanding academic work.
Learning beyond the syllabus
The best learning often begins where the syllabus ends. Through our Independent Academic Extension programme, academic societies, lectures, reading programmes, competitions and university preparation, you will be encouraged to explore your subjects in greater depth and follow your intellectual curiosity.
Whether you are preparing for a competitive university application, undertaking independent research or discovering an entirely new field, you will have opportunities to develop the habits of mind that support lifelong learning.
