St Benedict’s School is proud to celebrate the achievements of its Year 11 students, who have secured a strong set of GCSE results following another year of hard work, commitment and determination.

Almost half of all grades awarded were at the highest levels of 9 and 8, with 66% of grades awarded at 9–7. These results reflect the breadth of academic achievement across the year group and the dedication of both students and staff.

Headmaster Joe Smith said, “We are very pleased to be celebrating another year of strong GCSE results for our Year 11s. They have worked hard, and been superbly supported by their teachers, as well as contributing hugely to wider school life beyond the classroom. I am delighted that the vast majority of the year group will be joining our Sixth Form, alongside a good number of joiners, whom we look forward to welcoming to St Benedict's in September.”

There were a number of individual successes across the year group, including:

  • Olivia S who achieved straight 9s in all ten of her subjects
  • Shuhan H also achieved straight 9s and an A in Additional Maths
  • Jay W who gained nine 9s, one 8 and an A in Additional Maths
  • Gemma S, Henry H, Lorna P, Maverick T, Aimee P, Arabella W and Tom H who all gained a full set of Grade 9s, 8s and 7s

Reflecting on her results, Olivia S said: “I am very happy with my results and looking forward to starting my A levels this year. My teachers and friends were a great help and source of encouragement throughout GCSEs.”

Head of Year 11, Will Clarke, said: “As Head of Year 11, I could not be more proud how incredibly well our students have done in their GCSEs. Their hard work, resilience and commitment throughout have truly paid off. It has been a privilege to watch them grow and achieve results that reflect both their academic abilities and personal growth.”

The Class of 2026 have also made a significant contribution to the wider life of St Benedict’s throughout their time at the school, embracing opportunities beyond the classroom and demonstrating the resilience, character and determination that underpin success.

St Benedict’s warmly congratulates the GCSE Class of 2026 on their achievements and looks forward to welcoming the majority of students back to the Sixth Form in September, where they will be joined by a new cohort of students. We wish them every success as they begin the next stage of their education and continue to grow and flourish at St Benedict’s.
