We are delighted to announce that St Benedict's has been awarded World Class School status by High Performance Learning (HPL), recognising the exceptional quality of education provided across the school and our commitment to helping every student achieve their full potential.

The prestigious accreditation follows two years of engagement with the HPL framework and places St Benedict's among a select group of schools worldwide recognised for delivering a world-class education. In its accreditation letter, HPL described St Benedict's as having "fully embraced the HPL philosophy" and praised the way it has been embedded throughout the school, adding that St Benedict's is "an exemplar of how to adopt HPL."

High Performance Learning is founded on the belief that high achievement is an attainable goal for all young people. Through the development of advanced cognitive skills, alongside the values, attitudes and attributes associated with success, students are equipped not only for examinations but for lifelong learning.
Fiona Allen, Deputy Head (Academic) and HPL lead said:
"I am truly delighted with our recognition as a World Class School. This recognition, with the underpinning belief that #EveryoneCan, is a distinctive feature of our Benedictine values-led ethos. I am enormously proud of our teaching staff for embracing this next academic chapter so wholeheartedly. The benefits for our students will continue for years to come."
Headmaster Joe Smith said:
“We are delighted to have been recognised as an HPL World Class School. This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our students and the strength of our Benedictine values, which encourage every young person to strive for excellence.
At St Benedict's, we believe that every student can achieve highly when they are supported, challenged and inspired. The HPL philosophy reflects that belief and has become an important part of our approach to teaching and learning. We are proud to join the global community of HPL World Class Schools and look forward to building on this success for the benefit of current and future generations of St Benedict's students.”

Ms Allen added: "At its core, High Performance Learning is built on a simple but powerful belief: that every student has the potential to be a high performer. HPL equips students with the language to talk about their own learning, the confidence to tackle complex problems, and the habits of mind that employers and universities are looking for."
The accreditation team highlighted the strength of HPL leadership at St Benedict's, noting that the framework is embedded across lessons and that students speak confidently about their learning. Assessors also commented that "a lot has been achieved in a short time" and described the school as a case study in how to successfully embed HPL within a secondary school.
As a newly accredited World Class School, St Benedict's joins the HPL Fellowship and Global Community, a network of leading schools from around the world committed to educational excellence. Membership provides opportunities for collaboration, professional learning, research and leadership development, ensuring that St Benedict's continues to innovate and refine its approach to teaching and learning.
This recognition marks an important milestone in St Benedict's ongoing pursuit of excellence and reflects the commitment of staff and students alike to creating a culture in which every learner can flourish.
