St Benedict's appoints new head of football

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Arunveer Brar as Head of Football at St Benedict's School from September 2026.
Arun joins St Benedict’s with extensive experience in both teaching and elite football coaching. A graduate of St Mary's University with a degree in Sports Coaching Science and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Arun has worked since 2016 at Desborough College as a PE Teacher, Head of Key Stage, and Football & Cricket Programme Lead at his former school.
Alongside his teaching career, Arun has developed an impressive coaching background. He is a UEFA A Licence coach and, since 2023, has worked as an academy coach at Queens Park Rangers F.C., primarily coaching the Under-13 age group.
Arun will take over leadership of the football programme from Daniel Matsuzaka, who successfully oversaw the introduction of football at St Benedict’s in 2024 and helped establish strong foundations for the sport within the school community.
Passionate about the power of sport to shape young people both on and off the pitch, Arun’s coaching philosophy centres on building strong relationships, encouraging curiosity, and creating environments where players feel both challenged and supported to achieve their potential.
Speaking about his appointment, Arun said:
I’m really excited to be joining St Benedict’s and to build on the excellent work that has already been done within the football programme. Football has a huge role to play in developing confidence, character and togetherness, and I’m looking forward to helping pupils continue to enjoy the game, improve and reach their potential.

We look forward to welcoming Arun to St Benedict’s in September and to the continued growth and success of football at the school under his leadership.
