Supporting St Benedict's

Our areas of focus for 2020/2021 are:

  • Bursaries
  • Annual Fund project: Floodlights at Perivale and Theatre Studio Renovation

The provision of Bursaries to deserving students is central to St Benedict’s mission. We are very proud of our bursary provision which ensures we can offer a range of financial assistance to students who would not normally be able to access a St Benedict’s education. None of this support comes from fee income but is entirely from donations we receive, for which we are incredibly grateful.

The Development & Alumni Relations Office would welcome any opportunity to discuss any support for the St Benedict’s Bursary Appeal. Please email Tara George at for further information or to arrange a confidential meeting.

Each year, St Benedict’s identifies important projects that will significantly impact the lives of our current and future students, but which cannot go forward with school fees alone. The Annual Fund provides an additional revenue stream to enable these projects and is a great way for parents, alumni and friends of St Benedict’s to help enhance the education of all our students. Through the Annual Fund, there is also the opportunity to direct a gift to support our Bursary Appeal.

This year, we are fundraising for the Installation of Floodlights at our Sports Fields and the Renovation of our Drama Studio. These projects will significantly enhance the offering of our Sports and Drama Departments, as well as enrich the co-curricular lives of our students.

The Development & Alumni Relations Office would welcome any opportunity to discuss any support for the St Benedict’s Annual Fund. Please email Tara George at for further information or to arrange a confidential meeting.

Regular Giving

Regular giving is a way of enabling all of our parents, former parents, alumni, governors, staff and friends to contribute on a regular basis to further development at Benedict’s.

Regular giving allows us to budget confidently. Whether monthly, quarterly or annually, your regular donation makes a significant difference to St Benedict’s.

A gift from you, no matter what the size, would help us extend the opportunity of a St Benedict’s education to as many bright and deserving students as possible.

Giving monthly or annually by Direct Debit is a simple and extremely valuable way of making a donation.

Monthly gifts can really add up and your contribution could join those from others to fund a full bursary place.

Leave a legacy

The 1902 Society has been established in recognition of all those friends of St Benedict’s who have pledged to remember the School in their will. For information about leaving a legacy gift to St Benedict’s, please click here.

Pay as you earn

Payroll Giving is an easy way for those who pay UK income tax to give regularly to charity. For more information on Payroll Giving, please click here.

Gifts from Overseas

If you are a non-UK resident you can make a gift by bank transfer or credit card payment. Simply contact the Development and Alumni Relations Office and we will be delighted to help.

If you are a US resident your gift to St Benedict’s can be tax deductible if you make it through the British Schools and Universities Foundation (BSUF), a charity approved by the US Internal Revenue Service, set up to support British schools and universities in a tax efficient way.

We are fortunate to have Dr Francis Cuss (OP 60) as our American contact for BSUF. If you would like to make a donation by cheque please make the cheque payable to the BSUF, expressing a preference for St Benedict’s.

To donate, please fill in one of our gift forms and return to the BSUF and make a donation online, clearly stating your preference of St Benedict’s School.

If you would like to speak to the Development and Alumni Relations Office about giving through the BSUF please get in touch and we’ll be happy to explain this process for you in more detail.

Gift Aid

Gift aiding your donation allows St Benedict’s to reclaim an addition 25p in every £1, at no extra cost to you. Higher rate tax payers donating through Gift Aid can claim back the difference between the higher rate of tax and the basic rate of tax on the total valuation of their donation.

Please make sure you tick the “Gift Aid Declaration” box on our Gift Forms, if you qualify.
