Supporting St Benedict's

Bursaries

The provision of bursaries to deserving students is central to St Benedict’s mission.  We are proud of our bursary provision which this year sees almost two thirds of our students receiving a range of financial assistance.  None of this support comes from fee income but entirely from donations we receive, for which we are incredibly grateful.

We offer a wide range of help, from 10% to 100% fee remission.  Our aim is to have a full range of talented students whatever their background, and it is our hope that in the future we will be able to offer even more students some level of assistance with their fees. This year, a total of £650,000 has been spent on bursaries, although unfortunately we are still not in a position to support every successful applicant.

Regular Giving

Regular giving is a way of enabling all of our parents, former parents, alumni, governors, staff and friends to contribute on a regular basis to further development at Benedict’s.

Regular giving allows us to budget confidently. Whether monthly, quarterly or annually, your regular donation makes a significant difference to St Benedict’s.

A gift from you, no matter what the size, would help us extend the opportunity of a St Benedict’s education to as many bright and deserving students as possible.

Giving monthly or annually by Direct Debit is a simple and extremely valuable way of making a donation.

Monthly gifts can really add up and your contribution could join those from others to fund a full bursary place.

THE ANNUAL FUND

By supporting the Annual Fund you enable a number of important projects, which cannot be fully accommodated within the school’s budget, to happen sooner rather than later.

The launch this year of our first Annual Fund appeal also seeks to help more pupils than ever receive financial aid through Scholarships and Bursaries.

If you would like more information or if you are able to help please contact the Development Team - development@stbenedicts.org.uk

Gifts from Overseas

If you are a non-UK resident you can make a gift by bank transfer or credit card payment. Simply contact the Development Office and we will be delighted to help.

GIVING FROM THE USA

If you are a US resident your gift to St Benedict’s can be tax deductible if you make it through the British Schools and Universities Foundation (BSUF), a charity approved by the US Internal Revenue Service, set up to support British schools and universities in a tax efficient way.

We are fortunate to have Dr Francis Cuss (OP 60) as our American contact for BSUF. If you would like to make a donation by cheque please make the cheque payable to the BSUF, expressing a preference for St Benedict’s.

To donate, please fill in one of our gift forms and return to the BSUF and make a donation online, clearly stating your preference of St Benedict’s School.

If you would like to speak to the Development Office about giving through the BSUF please get in touch and we’ll be happy to explain this process for you in more detail.
