Sports Scholarship Application for 11+ entry September 2025
Sports Scholarships are open to both internal and external applicants.
External pupils who wish to be considered for a Sports Scholarship must submit this form by Thursday 31 October 2024 at 12pm. Scholarship applications will only be considered if the applicant has also registered for inclusion in our 11+ assessments. Internal pupils who wish to be considered for a Sports Scholarship must submit this form by Thursday 31 October 2024 at 12pm. Nothing further is required.
11+ Sports Scholarship trials will be held on Thursday 14 November 2024.
As a guide in deciding whether to apply, successful 11+ applicants will specialise in two of the School's main sports:
- Boys: rugby or fencing during the winter months, cricket or athletics during the summer term.
- Girls: hockey or netball during the winter months, cricket or athletics during the summer term.
Applicants will be assessed on the evidence of their current performance and their future potential and will have a short interview with the Directors/Head of the relevant sports. At 11+ applicants must demonstrate an elite level of performance for their age category.

Process:
Following receipt of this application form, the Sports Department will collate the information provided on this form, references directly from the referees provided and then contact applicants to confirm trials details or, alternatively, to advise if the applicant has not been selected for the trials.
The award of a Sports Scholarship will be confirmed with offer letters for a place at the School. These are posted on Friday 7 February 2025, a date set by the North London Consortium of which St Benedict’s is a part.
