The Junior Department consists of eight classes of about twenty children, each with its own Form Tutor. Most Form Tutors teach RE, English and Maths to their form; some also teach History, Geography and IT. The children have specialist teachers for Science, French, PE/Games, Music, ADT and IT (in the upper part of the school) and these subjects have dedicated rooms/playing fields. The curriculum is broad and balanced, but its breadth does not detract from learning 'the basics'. Homework is given on a regular (daily) basis increasing as the children move up the school; all are expected to read each night as well. ![]() The children are split into four houses on entry - Bede, Fisher, Gregory and More. They have many opportunities to earn house points which enable them to gain their bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond awards. The House Cup is awarded each week at Assembly to the house that has earned the most points that week. When the children move into the Senior School, they automatically move into their affiliated house. |
After school there are many clubs and activities, from Drama to Horse Riding which take place from Monday to Thursday. There is also an After-School Club which Junior children can attend from 4.30pm. In addition there are holiday activities every holiday. |
