All Form 2 (Year 6) children sit the Senior School 11+ Entrance examination and the expectation is that all of our children will make the transition to the Senior School. During the second half of the summer term, Form 2 children attend assembly in the Senior School once each week and also start to use the Senior School Progress Cards as part of their everyday school routine. Induction days during the summer term in the Senior School provide the finishing touches. The children making this transition benefit from the fact that there is continuity of ethos and expectation throughout the School. In addition to this, Form 2 children will have had ample opportunity to use Senior School facilities (for example ICT Suites and Science Laboratories) and meet Senior School teachers in the years prior to them making the transition to Senior School at 11+. The Form 2 children are always very excited about the prospect of their transition to 'the big school', but they are also very reassured and confident that they will experience many exciting challenges at the next step of their educational experience at St Benedict's. |
