Religous Education (Junior - Academic Curriculum)

In the life of our Catholic School, Religious Education plays a vital and central part. The children learn the ability to listen; to think critically, spiritually and morally; to acquire information and to make skilled judgements.

To achieve a balanced curriculum, we must recognise that we also have a responsibility to help the children in our care to be aware of the importance of the other principal world faiths. We help them to realise and value the uniqueness of the Catholic faith and its relationship to other faiths.

The teaching of Religious Education takes place in the classroom through a selection of differentiated activities including storytelling, role-play, discussion, reading and independent research. The children have daily prayer time in their form classes as well as collective worship in Mass every week.
