House System (Junior)

From Lower Prep (Year 3) onwards, the children are assigned to houses, with each junior house affiliated with a senior house (Bede is affiliated with Pickering, Fisher with Roberts, Gregory with Gervase, and More with Barlow). A vertical house system is used and siblings are given the opportunity to be members of the same house.

House points can be earned by children throughout the year for academic and co-curricular contributions, and the sports house competitions are keenly contested. A House Cup is awarded at the end of each week for the house that has accumulated the most house points during the course of the preceding seven days. The children are very loyal to their houses but are also encouraged to celebrate the achievements of their house rivals.
