Co-Curricular Activities (Junior)

The Junior and Senior schools are renowned for achievements in music, art and sport. There are many opportunities for performing including concerts, formal and informal, as well as drama productions. There are regular visits to the theatre, concert halls and museums as well as annual trips to Scotland and France.

Every week there is a wide variety of hobbies or clubs, which provide pupils with opportunities to develop confidence and experience. Hobbies range from chess to fencing, from cross-stitch to horse-riding and from computing to swimming.

The library, which is open every lunch time and after school, is at the centre of the School and has an extensive stock of fiction, non-fiction, reference and talking books as well as periodicals. The aim is to stimulate reading for pleasure and to encourage interest in books for enjoyment as well as interest in new areas of study. At lunchtime it is a hive of activity with some children listening to talking books, others reading the periodicals, some doing research or just browsing, while others play board games.

Playtimes are enhanced by the availability of two large, secure playgrounds, a large lawn with decking area, and two adventure playgrounds.
