Art, Design and Technology (Junior - Academic Curriculum)

Art, Design and Technology in the Junior School is a dynamic and exciting subject. Throughout the year we cover all three disciplines at every age level. In Art we look at a variety of artists, learning about their lives and backgrounds, their style and techniques for making their artworks. We use these artist studies for inspiration as well as exploring our own ideas and techniques when producing our art. Throughout the years we develop skills in drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and textiles.

In Design and Technology we focus on the ‘making’. We investigate how things work. We learn about structures and mechanisms, food technology and how to incorporate electrical devices into our designs. In all areas of ADT we learn to explore and investigate ideas, make changes and evaluate our end product. It is a fun subject with no limits!
